Since launching my first book in 2019, I’ve had immense support from our karate and writing communities. Thank you!!! Over the years, I’ve honed in on my primary reason for creating my series of character-building picture books. And that is, to get it in the hands of readers who really need it. This year, I completed my fourth book, The Nice, New Karate Kid. It’s a children’s book that teaches about respect.
It has become a tradition to hold a book launch party to celebrate the publication of each of the picture books which I both write and illustrate. However, the book release party for this book wasn’t just a tradition. It provided a real opportunity to interact with a message and a form of media meant to uplift the lives of readers. For example, we practiced fending off disrespect and trouble.

In the positive, harmonious environment, we practiced respect for each other. We enjoyed the company of; a bestselling author (no, not me), elementary school teachers, karate teachers from different styles, parents, creative individuals, and youth of all ages. And in the festive atmosphere, we celebrated a new children’s book that teaches about respect.
Don’t despair if you didn’t make it to the party, you can see some of the fun here in a Youtube video. While you’re at that link, consider subscribing to our Youtube channel, so you can be notified first about new videos.
