KARATE WITH YOUR DOG & LAUNCH PARTY

Karate is Going to the Dogs

MESA, Arizona – December 2019 marked the release of Jenifer Tull-Gauger’s second children’s book. Since the plot includes karate and the adoption of a dog, the book’s publication will be celebrated with a karate class that’s going to the dogs. The launch party will take place 9:45 a.m.—11:30 a.m. on Saturday February 15th, 2020, outside East Valley Martial Arts in Mesa. It will include book signings, a book reading, pictures with your dog and the author, and a Karate with your Dog Class. Participants in the class are invited to bring their dogs to go alongside them through a martial arts influenced obstacle course. Donations will be accepted for the Arizona Humane Society.

Ms. Tull-Gauger says, “As traditional karate instructors, my husband and I look forward to hosting a fun, unique event while keeping a focus on safety, as we do in all our classes.” She both wrote and illustrated her new picture book, “The Two True Karate Kids.” The book reflects Ms. Tull-Gauger’s personality in that it is fun, unique and influenced by traditional karate.

About the Book that Inspired a Karate with your Dog Class

In the character-building children’s picture book, a karate boy and a karate girl get tangled up in the webs of dishonesty. This starts when one of them adopts a dog. Dishonesty is portrayed as a yellow and green, size-changing spider. The karate kids must battle this negative character trait in an attempt to save their friendship. The website www.JeniferTullGauger.com has book trailers and more information about this and the author’s other books. “The Two True Karate Kids,” geared toward kids aged five to ten, is available to order online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Minors under the age of 18 must have a guardian present with them at the launch party, and all dogs must be on a leash and under control of their handler. Contact Jenifer to reserve a spot in the Karate with your Dog Class, for more information, or in the event of rain for the alternate date and time.
