My second children’s karate picture book, “The Two True Karate Kids,” has the adoption of a dog as an important part of the story line. So for the book launch party, we held a special outdoor celebration that included a karate with dogs.

The quitting monster says it would be so easy. Just stop, just for now, it’s so nice and dark and safe and comfortable to hide in a little pill bug ball. Isn’t it easier to do that any time life throws obstacles in our way?
Poems are great for capturing emotions and inspiration. Haiku especially is designed to capture a single moment and the beauty in it. This short form of poetry can be powerful and traditionally focuses on the beauty of nature in a fleeting moment.
